On Thursday, October 6th, ITW Heartland will participate in the ‘Dream It. Do it. Minnesota Statewide Tour of Manufacturing’ events. ‘Dream it. Do it.’ is a national manufacturing careers recruitment strategy developed in 2005 by The Manufacturing Institute. Minnesota is one of approximately 33 states currently participating in this effort which was created to attract workers to fill the approximately 600,000 open manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Its focus is to increase awareness of the high paying, high qualitycareer opportunities available in manufacturing.

In Minnesota, the focus of this campaign is to:

  • Inspire young people to prepare for and seek careers in Advanced Manufacturing
  • Improve the public’s image of manufacturing
  • Influence schools, parents, and guidance counselors to embrace manufacturing careers
  • Involve Minnesota Manufacturers in a leadership role

Per Randy Meyer, Director of Operations, “ITW Heartland and Spiroid are proud to support this important initiative and excited to help demonstrate that manufacturing can be fun, important work. Its easy for us to have this perspective because our employees get to be a part of exciting and interesting applications ranging from robotic exoskeleton suits to helicopter gun turrets to missile fin actuation – to name only a few.”

Please feel free to visit ITW Heartland on Thursday, October 6th, from 3 to 6 p.m. or visit www.tourofmanufacturing.org for more information.

About Spiroid

The Spiroid & Helicon gearing brands are comprised of a pinion and a face-gear operating in non-intersecting and non-parallel axes – often referred to as ‘skew axis’. Spiroid and Helicon are advantageous in that they broaden gearing design opportunities restricted by the physical limitations of conventional gearing. Spiroid and Helicon represent a powerful design alternative for engineers looking to transmit higher torques, within smaller spaces, at right angles. Spiroid and Helicon: maximum power density in a right angle gearing solution.
